The final conference of the Jean Monnet Chair for European Environmental Law ‘Changes of Serbian environmental law and the influence of environmental acquis’ was held on June 20, 2022 at the Faculty of Law University of Belgrade. The scientific board of the conference consisted of Prof. Dr. Tatjana Jovanić, Prof. Dr. Mirjana Drenovak-Ivanović, Prof. Dr. Bojana Čučković and Prof. Dr. Maja Lukić Radović, while the organizing committee consisted of assistant Marija Vlajković and assistant Bojana Todorović.
The introductory presentation on the role of the Jean Monnet Chair for European Environmental Law in the development of environmental law and climate change law was given by the Prof. Dr. Mirjana Drenovak-Ivanović. In the first section, Prof. Dr. Slobodan Vukadinović, spoke about the role of parliament in encouraging public participation when considering environmental issues, Tina Janjatović, who represented the Ministry of Environmental Protection, about reporting on the implementation of the Aarhus Convention in Serbia, Hristina Vojvodić, representative of the Regulatory Institute for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development, on the implementation of the Law on Integrated Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution in the Republic of Serbia, Miloš Kuzman, PhD student at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, advisor for the law of exploration and production of oil and gas, NIS a.d. Novi Sad, vice-president of the Association for Energy Law of Serbia and Varvara Aleksić, doctoral student at the Central European University in Vienna, lawyer in the field of energy and the environment, spoke about the transfer of the EU energy acquis into Serbian legislation: the current state and challenges for the energy transition, Aleksandra Bijeljac, master lawyer, on the challenges and development of climate change regulation: Has an independent branch of climate change law been constituted at the level of internal law?, Andreja Milošević, lawyer, on the development of climate change law in the Republic of Serbia after the adoption of the Law on Climate Change, Darjana Macanović, Master of Law, on the Proposal of the EU Directive on Due Diligence for Sustainable Business – environmental due diligence and possible implications for business on the Serbian market, Jelena Jeremić, Master of Law, on the legal regulation of current EU support projects for domestic enterprises the path to sustainable business, Danilo Vukmirov, Master of Law and Mast er political scientist on climate change and environmental responsibility. In the second section, Gordana Petković, M.Sc., spoke about the legal aspects of construction waste management with reference to the European Union and the Republic of Serbia, Marija Milaković, Master of Law, Judicial Academy, about the impact of the environmental acquis on the work of the courts and prosecutor’s offices of the Republic of Serbia regarding the application of regulations in the field of hazardous waste management, Andrea Tankosić, Master of Laws, Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia, on harmonizing the regulations of the Republic of Serbia with the regulations of the European Union in the field of coal-based electricity production, Đorđe Bjelica, lawyer, on the legal framework that governs issues of importance for eco design and the right to repair, Ljiljana Grubač, Master of Laws, on the right to fair access to drinking water: challenges in transferring the legal acquis of the European Union, Predrag Džamić, Master of Laws, lawyer, on the development and basic characteristics of Serbian environmental law in the field of legal water protection , and Petar Vuković, on negotiations in Chapter 27.
