Prof. Dr Bojana Čučković: International Environmental and Climate Change Law

International Environmental and Climate Change Law within JMC EECL Teaching

Prof. Dr Bojana Čučković delivered eight teaching hours in the summer semester of each of the 2023/2024, and 2024/2025 academic years, amounting to 16 hours within JMC EECL.

In 2024/2025, as in the preceding project year, four hours were delivered within the Climate Change Law course, while four hours on environmental and climate change law were integrated into the compulsory Public International Law course. The teaching addressed international sources and principles of environmental protection, states’ obligations to prevent transboundary harm, the due-diligence standard, international responsibility, and the role of international institutions and courts.

Integrating these topics into the compulsory Public International Law course extended the reach of JMC EECL beyond specialised environmental-law courses and enabled the international-law dimension of environmental protection and climate change to be presented to a wider group of students.
