Master’s Programme in Environmental Law for the 2025/2026 Academic Year
An information session on the programme was held at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law on 27 October 2025.
The JMC EECL programme was presented as a combination of legal scholarship and practice focused on sustainability, climate change, ESG standards and corporate accountability. Teaching covered the implementation of environmental-impact-assessment and integrated-permit legislation and corporate compliance with EU law.
Specific topics included the CSDDD, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, CBAM and the Omnibus reform package. The substantial participation of lawyers from private practice and business confirmed the programme’s practical orientation.
The information session demonstrated how master’s teaching had been further modernised during the project through new sustainability rules and environmental and climate litigation. Increased participation by in-house and practising lawyers enabled class discussion to draw on practical questions of compliance, reporting, permitting and liability. The programme therefore connected academic education with the needs of contemporary legal practice.
