German-Serbian PhD Seminar

Environmental and Climate Rights within the Constitutional and Administrative Law Seminar

The German-Serbian PhD Seminar was held at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer on 9 and 10 April 2025.

Prof. Dr Mirjana Drenovak-Ivanović contributed to discussion of doctoral research examining how evolving legal doctrines and institutional frameworks shape environmental and climate rights, with particular attention to procedural guarantees and judicial review.

The programme included a presentation on energy justice from the perspective of European human-rights law. The seminar continued academic exchange between the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and German partners in administrative, constitutional and environmental law.

The seminar enabled PhD candidates to receive comments from academics working in different legal systems and to test their research questions in a comparative setting. Discussion of energy, procedural guarantees and judicial review was directly connected with JMC EECL doctoral teaching on environmental and climate change law in national and international case law.
